Old Vloggers Vs New Vloggers

I'm not sure if i can really call myself a motovlogger. I don't really subscribe much to the "Rant around a subject while I ride to work format". Most of my videos are really just a by-product of something I've done or somewhere I've gone. That said, I think it keeps them fresh, and they 'evolve' because it's my actual biking life unfolding!

I'm not making any money but, as many have said, that's not really why any of us do it. I enjoy the process, the interaction, sharing and the community banter that ensues.

I have just over 300 sub's currently and tend to get around 300 views on average per video. So as a percentage, i can't really complain either!

Seriously though as many have said it before, it's not gonna work if you do it because of the 'money' only a very few actually make and will make a living out of this and everything has it's shelf life.

yeah I know you were being sarcastic, I was hoping you'd carry on the joke ;P I think most of us agree the money isn't good enough to do it just for the money!
 
While we're on money, I've got two vids posted at similar times and have similar stats to each other in terms of views, yet one has made $1 and the other $0.03. I don't get it!!
 
It's all about where the videos were watched, at what time, which ads were shown at that time and whether or not the viewer clicked/watched the complete ad. So there are no constants.

Thats true, my $0.03 just seams random. But I am waiting for that cheque lol

I don;t know buddy.

I never ask people to subscribe to my channel so I guess they're all legitimate subs who view my videos.

If I agree to sub a fellow vlogger just because they subbed me, it doesn't help them out as they will have a "fake" sub who won;t view their videos.
 
I have almost stopped asking them to. no one freaking listens.. (except in my sig here, cause its cool)

As for the other guys asking about 0.03c and $1 , If i click on the ad, you get 0.001c for example... if lots of people click you get more money, easy
 
It's not that simple. I got $0.94 from a single viewer, because they watched the entire pre-roll advert and I think they clicked through to the website at the end.
 
Well the system is the same, but the adverts are aimed at channels relating to the products and people get paid differently depending on how much their audience engage with the videos and adverts.
 
thought i'd add my 2cents ... i'm both new and old, was around in 2010 for a year or so, then had to sell the bike... now i'm starting again. back in the day it was all about the fun, it was all about the community for me. i have noticed since my return that theres more vloggers doing the 'brand' thing, selling merchandise etc. which is cool and everything, and more power to ya if you've got that successful that you can make a living from vlogging (dream job or what!). we're all vloggers, we're all on 2 wheel, we all would love to be able to give up the day job and do this full time! i have monetised my vids and so far have $0.28 lol
