If you want more views I say speak English. If anyone says anything negative about your English skills let me know and I'll tell you some things you can say as a reply.
Haha, that's relieving! I'd do that if someone says anything negative.
Seriously though, why don't you do both?
Youtube allows you to have more than one channel on one subscription now (in fact, upto 50). You could use your standard name as either your Indonesian vlog channel or your english one, and you could direct people on each video to the other channel for your vlogs in that language.
For english vlogs, you can keep on practising until you are confident without uploading; you can even upload and keep the videos private. Then when you have 10000 subscribers, make them public slowly to show your subscribers what your english used to be like, what your initial vlogs were like, and how you have improved over time.
There are many options - but there are only a few people who sound professional and on-the-ball completely. We all have wobbles in what we say and how we say it, so I wouldn;t really worry about it too much
Now that I learn more about YouTube features! Having a multiple channels may help me in using both languages. I was also thinking of using both languages, sometimes in 1 video. Anyways, its true, probably I worry too much. :s Probably its because I don't really know if Indonesians like to watch vlogs though..
I voted both... But.... Depends on your target audience.... If mainly English speaking countries then English.. But with sometimes Indonesian word thrown in... And translation of word or phrase maybe?.... International relations
I'm also thinking on my target audience. I searched some moto vloggers in Indonesia and I could only find Riding Java, and he is from America (I think). Indonesians usually write blogs, and I don't really know if they watch vlogs as well. Maybe I should use both languages as a start to see how it will go? If no Indonesians interested in my moto vlogs, I might as well use English all the time, I guess?
Good on you Kryten!
I would NEVER slate someone for speaking English when it is not their own language. Even the worst example would be WAY better than my attempt to speak whatever their language is. They are doing me a favour by attempting to communicate to me in my language
That's what I've been thinking of! If there are no good response, or let say Indonesians do not really like to watch vlogs, I might just use English for global viewers, so that you guys can understand it easier!
Its all up to your creative licence.
English will obviously get you more international views, Indonesian will get you localised views I assume.
To me though, its how you do it. I'm thinking of doing a series called 'Tales from Japan' where I'll talk predominately in English about funny stories from Japan. In that, I'll throw in a bit of Japanese for the realism and probably add in subtitles so no one is left out.
That's the great thing about YouTube. It's your channel to do however you want. Get out there and have a blast!!
That is one good idea man! I can probably do that as well, you know, use English predominately and mix it up with Indonesians. I might as well teach you guys our languages as well. Haha.

I'm sure that I'll have a blast! You have to see how's riding in here.
I don't feel comfortable talking in English to anybody but it seems to get better the more I vlog.
I'm not confident enough but there's no way to improve without trying.
If you want the local views, do your vlogs in your native language, if you want a broader audience, do it in English so most people around the world can understand you.
Doing both is the best option and you can do everyone a favor if you CC your vlogs in both languages so people who don't know English can understand your English vlogs and if someone gets hooked up on one of your Indonesian vlogs, they'll be able to understand thanks to the English captions.
I, personally, don't want any local attention so my channel, facebook and everything related to me riding a bike is in English. Not too high of a barrier but keeps some unwanted people from looking at what I do.
Exactly! The thing that makes me want to use English other than to get broader audience is to practice my English. And obviously, I would prefer broader audience. There a lot more than local audience right?

And also I am not sure about their interest in watching vlogs or making vlogs.
Do what you feel comfortable with and remember practice today will make you better tomorrow
True! Actually I tried talking in Indonesians on my way too the office, and people were looking at me. I think they thought I was talking to them.

I'll make sure to get better!
Using both languages probably the answer for now. I can also research by depending on using Indonesians and English as a start to see are both doing well. If using Indonesians will not attract local views, I might just as well do my entire vlogs in English. I'm getting more confidence after reading these discussions! And let us not stop here!

Thank you for all of your participation and inputs!
