Basic sound editing in Resolve?

@Drakhen99 et al,

Can anyone point me to some good instructions/tutorial regarding basic sound editing for videos.

Determining appropriate dB levels for different sounds (voice, sound FX, music) and also getting the cleanest sound for the video (filters?) .

I'm not talking about recording here but specifically the editing process.

Sorry for the delay - I just saw this [why doesn't the forum notify me when someone mentions me?]...

ANYWAY, there are a few good YT tutorial channels for Resolve - I highly recommend Jason Yadlovski. Great guy, I've emailed with him several times on different things, and his videos are always very thorough.

As for what *I* do, it's as easy as using Alex Audio Butler and adding Noise Reduction to my voice track.

That's it. Get a rough cut done, add in AAB effects, add the NR effect, finish tweaks to the edit, and play through once or twice, render.

AAB is $90, but oh so worth it for me. It handles all the audio levels, does a bit of voice isolation on the voice track, handles ducking of audio. I think it's great!

Does sounds good, in fact in the shorter term sounds like a better investment for me than Resolve Studio.

I just went to look at https://alexaudiobutler.com but it's on the 'banned site' list on my (work) computer.
Go figure.

Just an FYI, Unimule will do a 10-day trial license so you can try it out and see if it's for you. Let 'em know John @ Road Reality sent ya. I don't get a kickback or anything, but it can't hurt to let them know.
