I have to agree, the UK Tax man is a complete Butthole. :)

On subject to the camera, to me it also seems like a water proofed version of an old model.

Zi8 has image stabilization already.

@Desmovalves: Try switching between the modes - the lens on the Zi8 does have slight variations when used in the different resolution modes. Some give a slightly wider angle than others.

You forget the image stabilization feature. If it's good it'll be a great feature for motovloggers I think.

From what I have seen, this can go under water up to 9feet and does not have a mic at all.

Yep. Quasi-useful, but better since the latest firmware update (it was a joke before).

What will be really nice is when we see OPTICAL image stabilization like on micro-digital cameras. :)

Does anybody vlog with this cam? I'm looking to upgrade to a new cam. This one is 0.8 inches thick, just enough room in my new helmet. But the Vado is slightly thiner at 0.6, but i like the features of the Kodak better. What to do, what to do?

Reviving a dead thread here!

Just bought one of these (ought to be here in a week or so) and was wondering if anyone vlogs with one now :?: :?:

I bought my son one for his bday this year. Comparing it to my Vado, I found it to tall and to wide to make a viable inside helmet camera. It does have great audio and video, but still to big for a vertical mount system.

I just got a 3rd generation vado the other day. Will try and go out this evening when it cools down and give it a test run. The one great aspect of the 3rd Gen Vado is the mic input feature, so you can mount the camera anywhere and still run an external mic to the helmet for a proper vlog and it is still roughly the same size as the 1st and 2nd Gen Vado's.

Thanks for the feedback Mike. I was planning on using it for vlogging, but if it doesn't fit in the helmet, it will be a good multi-cam addition. Especially if I sync with my Fuji audio.

A review of the vado III from the perspective of a II owner should be insightful. Looking forward to seein footage from the new vado.
