I have seen some interesting weather the last two years here in the NW region of the US. Though I believe in Global Warming, its interesting that some people don't. Also interesting peoples thinking on global warming. I read I believe in the science magazine that Global warming is actually mostly cause by electricity, not our autos (though autos does help to create global warming.) But its a lot easier for people to cut down on driving then it is for them to cut down on their electronic items.

to whom is doubtful of "GW" many think it is natural, or speculation, or even political interest!! I am a biologist and i studied "negative feedback" for a while...not only on climate, but in animal behavior, biostatistics, and marine biology. Most of us think "if earth is heating, why r winters more intense? Summers more humid?" don't take usual and local events for granted. Each individual act is important! Get rid of all the pickup trucks and SUVs. No one (and I mean NO ONE) actually uses pickups or SUVs for what they were made for anyways.

Well most don't anyway.

The recent El Nino storms are actually a product of global warming. And, ironically enough, so are the cold snaps in North America and Europe.

NASA has satellite measurements of the global temperature. 2009 is the warmest year on satellite record. From the look of things, 2010 will beat 2009.

A large scale switch over to nuclear power might help. Although at this stage of the game it will probably require additional measures to remove atmospheric CO2. Warm ocean water can't dissolve as much CO2 as cold ocean water. Warm oceans are also drivers of big storms. I'm expecting Atlantic hurricanes to start picking up again by 2012. I haven't actually run any numbers on that. I'm going on intuition here.

We all might as well shoot ourselves in the forehead! Lest we be swimming in a ocean full of melted glaciers! Run for the hills!

LOL

I don't think it will be like that. That kind of warming might give us much bigger worries than losing some coastal areas.

The weather is certainly going to get interesting though. Storms are powered by heat.

haha yeah i agree... just waiting for the days to get a bit longer... getting dark at 4pm is kinda a drag... reduces the 'optimal' riding hours quite a bit
